Animal Behavior Consultant

Pet owners can often become frustrated and discouraged by their pet's unacceptable behavior.

Improperly dealing with a pet's behavior problem can make the situation worse.

However, many of these problems can be managed or even avoided by given appropriate information.

An animal behaviour consultant diagnoses and treats behaviour problems in pets and other animals,

such as aggression, separation anxiety, fears, timidity, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive behaviours.

An animal behaviour consultant may specialise in treating a particular kind of animal, for example, dogs.

Many community colloeges and vocational schools offer courses.

Topics include animal psychology and behaviour, animal biology, teaching obedience cues, problem solving methods, and safety.
